Before you Tilt

by Mayra on Jan.27, 2024, under Poker

Ah, the poker tilt. If a poker gambler claims never to have stared faced down the barrel of a looming poker steam – they’re either telling a lie or they have not been betting long enough. This doesn’t infer of course that everyone has been on steam in the past, a few people have great control and carry their losses as a defeat and leave it at that. To be a powerful poker gambler, it is especially crucial to treat your successes and your losses in an identical manner – with little emotion. You compete in the game the same way you did following a tough loss like you would after winning a big hand. Most of the poker pros are not attracted by tilting following an awful defeat as they are highly experienced and you really should be to.

You need to be certain that you won’t win each hand you are in, even if you are heavily favored. Hands that commonly make players to go on tilt are hands that you were the leading choice or at least thought you were until you were hit and you burned a big chunk of your bankroll. Bad losses are bound to develop. Face that certainty right now, I’ll say it again – if your sister plays cards, if your mother plays cards, if your grandpa plays cards – We all have poor losses at some point. It’s an inevitable effect of participating in Holdem, or really any kind of poker.

Seeing as we are assumingly (nearly all of us) in the game for one reason – to earn $$$$, it certainly makes sense that we will wager appropriately to maximize our profit potential. Now let us say you are up $100 off of a 100 dollars deposit, and you suffer a huge hit in a NL game and your stack is down to one hundred and twenty dollars. You have lost $80 in a hand where you were certain to pick up $200two hundred dollars when you decided to go all-in on the flop and had a ten to one advantage. And that amateur! He bled you dry on the river? – Well stop right there. This is a quintessential opportunity for a new gambler to begin tilting. They just burned too much $$$$ on one round that they should have won and they are pissed
