Online poker has become world celebrated as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years many variants on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the dealer rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no bluffing or other kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the croupier announcing "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the house and of course all of the different players receive 5 cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the bank’s initial card, you need to either make a call bet or give up. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your original ante, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes immediately to the casino. After the bet is the face off. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, plus an amount equal to the ante. If the casino does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The dealer pony’s up money equal to your bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
