Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient origins. Built on the old Chinese domino game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the wild west in a great game for new players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler vs. the casino, unlike most other poker games that players compete against other players. By competing against the dealer, new players do not have to worry about any other, more advanced people winning their $$$$.
One more Pai Gow advantage is the relatively slow game pace, newcomers are able to take their time and scheme without having to make quick selections.
It is also easier to enjoy for a long time with just a tiny bit of cash seeing as, to lose, each of your hands has to be lower than each of the houses hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card common deck and a single joker. The gambler is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the casino receives seven cards face down.
One 5 card hand and one 2 card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
